Paul Heberling graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Fisheries. He worked for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for Wild and Scenic Rivers program and was the lead field worker for Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for a statewide water quality and macroinvertebrate monitoring program. He is the current Basin Coordinator for DEQ supporting beneficial uses of waters. 

Paul moved to Douglas County from Minnesota late October of 1992 and owns a 925 acre ranch in mostly the Dixon Creek Watershed raising Black Angus stock with about 40-45 cow calf pairs with a couple bulls. He was the 1st Chair of PURs Technical Advisory Committee and supported the development of subcommittee of TAC to review project proposals and potentials referral to board members seeking support for funding. He headed the development of initial monitoring committees/duties and supported the Education Committee and proposals for outreach and education. 

Paul and his family are committed to being stewards of the land and to leave those lands in better condition than when they were first being managed.
